Classic Timo Sarpaneva round bird bottle from Finland. Hand blown thin glass. Lintupullo is a Finnish name for the Bird bottle. Designed by Timo Sarpaneva in 1956 and manufactured in Iittala Glass Factory until 1968. Color is original i-color gray which was mixed with purple color and has a small purple hint depending on the light. I have owned many bird bottles. The problem with these is finding ones without grayness (water stains). Sometimes luckily they are cleanable and sometimes it’s already in a state of glass sickness. Yes there might be small normal signs of use but the bottle is free from grayness, has wonderful shape and original color. Signed “Timo Sarpaneva Iittala -58″ so this is early production piece.
