Made from leaded crystal, the steel gray body of the bird is accented by a clear crystal tail and head. Almost half the size of its head, the iridescent silver-blue beak stands out giving a splash of color to this otherwise neutral bird. Oiva Toikka crafted this bird to celebrate Finn Grand Fest 2010. Each bird is hand etched with O. Toikka Nuutajrvi Finn Grand Fest 2010 on the bottom. Oiva Toikkas 2005 annual bird is something to behold. The brilliant-blue Turkey Fowl is a substantial bird yet amazingly conveys a feeling of movement. We love the ruby red beak, the lustre of its head and its stong, glistening blue tail. Oiva Toikkas imagination and iittalas skilled Finnish glassblowers have created magical glass birds for over 30 years. Oiva is inspired by birds found all over the globe, but he makes each creation his own. Some say that the 2005 collection of Birds by Toikka is Oivas best work yet. The annual bird is a limited-edition work of art; production is limited to one year.
