Designed by Oiva Toikka. Special edition released in 1992 for OP-Tukku. Handmade at Nuutajarvi Glassworks in Finland. Unique coloration with smoke teal green, khaki brown, luster, and clear tones. Features subtle iridescent patterns and intricate detailing on the body. Tail shape, internal bubbles, and color layout differ from regular Snipe models. Toikka Nuutajarvi on the base. Transparent rectangular “i MADE IN FINLAND” sticker still present. Height: approximately 3.8 inches (9.7 cm). Width: approximately 5.7 inches (14.6 cm). Depth: approximately 2.9 inches (7.4 cm). Very good condition with no damage. Minor scuffing on the underside only. Glass surface has excellent luster and clarity. No original box included. A rare and elegant collector’s item from Toikka’s bird series. Beautiful reflective effects under light, with a calm and refined color palette. This piece has an Iittala sticker with Nuutajarvi and Oiva Toikka acid-etched signature. Item Dimensions: 4.75″ tall / 7.5″ long / 3.75 wide. This piece is in good condition with no major damage, but please see the photos as minor surface scuffing is noted in various areas. One scuff above the eye appears to be a tooling mark, but all flaws are photographed for your consideration. Nuutajarvi Snow Bunting Glass Bird. Designed by Oiva Toikka. Produced between 1988 and 1992. Also known as “Pulmu” in Finnish. Not hollow inside, heavy and dense form. Compact round shape in transparent amber yellow. Decorative and functional as a paperweight. Clustered bubbles rise from the base, offering visual depth. The bird’s appearance changes beautifully depending on light source. Signed on the bottom: “O Toikka Nuutajarvi”. Width: approximately 3.1 inches (8 cm). Height: approximately 2.4 inches (6 cm). Depth: approximately 2.4 inches (6 cm). Small chip (1 mm) and minor surface scratches on one side. Slight wobble due to uneven base. Handcrafted item with internal bubbles and slight irregularities.
