Alli is a rare vintage bird featured in Oiva Toikka’s collection BIRDS BY TOIKKA. This is a very beautiful piece with a streamlined body and a swirl pattern. It is a mysterious color that changes to various colors such as silver, green, and brown depending on how the light hits it. This listing is for a Oiva Toikka for Iittala Finland Glass Bird. This bird is the Willow Grouse. It measures 6.5″ long from tip of beak to tip of tail, 4.75″ tall at the tallest point and 3.5 wide at the widest point. Weighs 1 pound 5 ounces. The Condition is very good. There is a hardly noticeable chip on the glass beak. Some possible discoloration on the upper neck under the head. There is no label or signature. He is most well known for his Birds by Toikka series which took flight in 1972; since then, more than four hundred glass bird designs have been hatched. Each bird is designed by him, many based on actual species, before being handcrafted in Finland by iittala’s master glassblowers.
