This specific design was introduced in 1983 (according to the Birds by Toikka book – Werner Söderström Osakeytiö – Helsinki – 2008 – page 21). The bird’s body is luster blue with hints of green and it has a clear transparent head. The bird is signed on the base O. It is one of the smallest and most delicate birds by Toikka – so tiny, dainty and perfect. Oiva Toikka’s birds are handmade in Nuutajärvi, a glass-making village in Finland.
