Toikka bird dating from the 1970s – this is a vintage Flycatcher (Sieppo, in Finnish) by Finnish designer Oiva Toikka. The body is red and the beak is black. The signature on the bottom reads Oiva Toikka Nuutajarvi Notsjo. The Sieppo birds were part of Nuutajärvi’s 1972 collection, which included a number of other glass pieces. The idea of launching a separate bird collection was born only later on. Two versions of the Sieppo were produced – with and without a foot.
