ORIGINAL IITTALA OIVA TOIKKA HAND BLOWN GLASS BIRD CURLEW. This is just a great original piece. I didnt even know what it was until I saw the little books that came with it. This is a wonderful vintage work done by important Finnish glass artist Oiva Toikka. He creates these hand blown glass birds every year on a limited production with each one made individually. According the catalogue that comes with the bird this one dates to 1998. A larger bird than most, this one measures about 7 inches tall and about 12 inches from tip of tail to beak. No chips or cracks or any issues at all that I can find. Signed to the underside with the original sticker. It looks as though there might be some color loss where it sits on the table. Dont know if it was created this way or not but you cant see it unless you turn it over. Really just an excellent example of this early Toikka bird. CHECK THE PICTURES ON THIS GREAT PIECE.
